What I charge

This includes travel and an allowance for small consumables such as screws, rawl plugs, drill bits etc. Materials are charged separately. You can supply your own or I can source these for you. Materials I buy for your job must be paid for in advance of the work starting.

I charge for any time I spend related to your job, including researching, ordering and fetching materials. Where possible, I will come and see the job in advance. Alternatively, you can send me pictures or we can have a video call so I know what I'm up against. That way, I can arrive as prepared as possible and do the job as efficiently as possible. 

Some of my customers want me for a fixed period of time and ask me to do what I can in that time. That works well for regular things like garden maintenance where there isn't necessarily a defined end to the work. Some are happy with an estimate, which allows for some flexibility both ways, and others want a fixed price; I'm happy to work in whatever way you prefer.

I invoice when the job is complete to your satisfaction. You can pay by bank transfer within seven days or in cash on the day. There are no discounts for cash - I declare all my income and pay all due tax because I like using public services such as the NHS and state schools - so please don't ask!
